Got this myself on my phone, and it simply refused to update. Here's what benefited me.

Edit: this appears to be a concern that Facebook know. It's an issue with the Facebook app, and not a generalised Play Store problem.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store, Clear data and also Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Services > Manage space, Clear all information as well as Clear cache


It doesn't hurt if you reboot your phone before you attempt upgrading facebook again. And, the mount was SLOW. Just at the very least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did job. If not try to uninstall it, or simply await a fix.
